Data classes
The kind of data decides the alias, and the key decides which aliases you can reach. A key cleared for children’s data cannot name anything else.
Three classes
| Class | Examples | Aliases |
|---|---|---|
| Public | News, public web pages, market data, generated images, public marketing copy | The personal set, plus askshiva-flash-public and, case by case, askshiva-reason |
| Personal | End-user chat, business records, birth details, HR records, startup ideas, screenshots | askshiva-flash-pd, askshiva-reason-pd, askshiva-strict, askshiva-embed-oai, plus any general aliases on your key (see below) |
| Children | Anything from a children’s or school product | askshiva-kids, askshiva-kids-fast, askshiva-embed-oai and nothing else |
If you are unsure, treat data as personal. If any user could be a child, treat it as children’s data.
Enforced by key, not by goodwill
- Each key’s model list holds only the aliases cleared for its class. Asking for anything else returns HTTP 403.
GET /modelsshows exactly that list. A children’s key sees three names.- Children’s aliases have no fallback of any kind, so a failure returns an error rather than reaching another provider.
- Personal and public data-class aliases have a short, fixed chain that ends in a final step with no further fallback. A fallback never crosses a class.
Test what you send
Routing rules limit where a request can go. They cannot see what is inside it. Your app is responsible for sending each request with the key of the right class.
Where each class may go
| Alias | Class | Fallback |
|---|---|---|
askshiva-flash-pd | Personal | Up to two steps, ending in a fixed final step. No China-hosted endpoint. |
askshiva-reason-pd | Personal | One step, to a fixed final step. No China-hosted endpoint. |
askshiva-strict | Personal | One step, to a fixed final step. |
askshiva-flash-public | Public | One step, to a fixed final step. Public data only. |
askshiva-kids | Children | None. One approved provider only. |
askshiva-kids-fast | Children | None. One approved provider only. |
askshiva-embed-oai | Any | None. One provider only, so vectors stay in one space. |
General aliases and personal data
Whether a general alias such as askshiva-fast may carry personal data depends on the terms of the provider behind it, and we review each provider before clearing it. Until a review is finished, use the -pd aliases for personal data. Some keys also list general aliases that an app used before the data-class aliases existed; for new personal-data work, use the -pd aliases.
Where it runs
- The gateway runs on rented servers in the USA. It does not run in India today.
- The spend ledger is configured not to store prompts or responses; it records the key, model, token counts and cost.
- Our own children’s products run with demo data only on these servers.
- Before any real personal data goes through, check each provider’s terms and hosting against your own obligations. This page describes routing rules and is not legal advice.
